The 2024 Mercedes AMG CLE53 carries a name car guys had never seen before, and that's just one fact on what makes this car interesting. Mercedes created the CLE class to take over for both the C-Class coupe and the E-Class coupe, folding two separate lineups into one for the first time in decades. That kind of move only happens when a manufacturer is confident the new car can do both jobs well, and the CLE53 backs that confidence up.
Under the hood sits a turbocharged 3.0 liter inline six paired with a 48 volt hybrid system, making 443 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque, with an overboost function that pushes torque even further for short bursts. Mercedes says the CLE53 hits 60 mph in 4 seconds flat, with power routed through a 9 speed automatic and standard 4MATIC+ all wheel drive. It even comes with rear axle steering, letting the back wheels turn against the fronts at low speed for a tighter turning radius, a feature usually reserved for far more expensive cars.
Fun fact, the 53 badge sits right in the middle of AMG's lineup, more power than the four cylinder 43 models, but still short of the V8 63 cars, which makes the CLE53 a sweet spot for drivers who want serious performance without going all the way to the top end.
The CLE53 already comes from the factory with flared fenders and a wider track than the standard CLE, which makes it a natural fit for custom wheels and offsets. Our in house engineer worked out the fitment on this build to sit flush with those fenders, giving the car the tucked in look the factory styling was already hinting at.
For this Mercedes we mounted our Forgelite SV08 in a Monoblock construction, finished in Gloss Black with the Forgelite text and logo filled in red. Up front it's a 20x9.5 fitment, stepping up to a 20x11 out back, both built on a 5x112 bolt pattern with a 66.9 center bore and ball seat hardware.
The SV08 was made for cars like this, aggressive enough to match the CLE53's flared body without fighting the factory lines. Every set from Forgelite Wheels is built to order, so this CLE53 got a fitment made specifically for it. That kind of custom work is what real aftermarket wheels are supposed to look like.
